Hardies Chartered Surveyors and Shepherd Chartered Surveyors will be joint headline sponsors for the Capability Scotland Gala Evening at Edinburgh’s Sheraton Grand on 3rd September 2026 for the second consecutive year.
Capability Scotland delivers exemplary care, support, and education for disabled children and adults across Scotland and, in addition to sponsoring its Gala Evening, Hardies and Shepherd support its annual golf day.
Douglas Smith, Managing Partner at Hardies Chartered Surveyors, said: “We are delighted to continue our support for Capability Scotland through a range of initiatives, such as the Gala Evening and the upcoming golf day this month.
“However more important than that to us is our desire to support and help Capability Scotland deliver their ambitious and impressive ‘Our Inclusive Community Project’, which affords the charity a once-in-a-generation opportunity to be at the heart of the local community, achieving its mission of delivering the highest quality services, tailored to the individual needs of disabled people it supports.”
The ‘Our Inclusive Community Project’ is the development of 60 homes and a community hub in the centre of Perth, for which Hardies Chartered Surveyors provides Quantity Surveying services.
Ailsa Wallace, Head of Fundraising and Communications, at Capability Scotland, added: “We are incredibly grateful to Hardies and Shepherd Chartered Surveyors for their continued support as headline sponsors of our Gala Evening.
“Their commitment goes far beyond sponsorship, playing a vital role in helping us realise Our Inclusive Community Project and create opportunities for disabled people to live, participate, and thrive at the heart of their community. Partnerships like this are essential in enabling us to deliver high-quality, person-centred services across Scotland.”

Notes to Editors
- Capability Scotland Inclusive Community Project – The re-provisioning of the services at Upper Springland, Isla Road, Perth at a new city centre site on Glover Street, Perth represents the most significant, complex and exciting strategic project Capability Scotland will have undertaken in recent times.
The Glover Street site offers a financially sustainable and integrated location. Perth & Kinross Council’s role in identifying and progressing the new location has been pivotal, with both parties committed to a collaborative approach that safeguards more than 200 jobs and ensures vital continuity of care for around 100 people with complex needs.
It is rare that at charity with 80 years of history, has the opportunity to start with a blank canvas – to re-imagine our services, to be at the heart of a new community and deliver exemplary services – to be a national resource.
