Hardies enters new era with refocused growth strategy for Scotland

In a move underscoring its strategic plan to consolidate growth through local activity, Hardies Property & Construction Consultants is to refocus its efforts on exploiting its unique potential throughout Scotland.

The shift marks the start of a new era for the firm as it parts ways with Head of Business Development Danny McArthur, who has been with the practice for some 26 years.

The move comes a year after Shepherd Chartered Surveyors’ Senior Partner Ian Fergusson assumed leadership at sister firm Hardies with the aim of maximising the potential for growth inherent within the two firms’ combined strength and full-service offering.

Commenting on his career change, McArthur said: “I’ve enjoyed my many years with the firm and wish everyone all the best for the future. And I’m excited about the new opportunity I’m embarking on.”

Fergusson said: “We thank Danny for the dedication he has shown to colleagues and clients alike over the course of his successful career to date and wish him well for the next chapter in his career.”

The Executive Board at Hardies, added: “We wish Danny all the best in his new career path and while his departure represents a new era for Hardies, it signals a strategic refocus of our efforts on growing our business in those local markets where we have long-established extensive expertise and experience.”

Shepherd and Hardies form a national practice unrivalled in its delivery network of surveying services throughout Scotland. Combined the firms now have 41 offices across the UK.
