Hardies wins £1 million Glasgow Kelvin College term commission for 2017

Hardies Property & Construction consultants has been successful on a £1 million term commission submission for Glasgow Kelvin College for the financial year 2017 to provide a range of multi-professional services for the College.

The commission will see Hardies provide services to deal with buildings requiring refurbishment to roofs, pathways, ramps and drainage problems as well as listed buildings works, including slating, stonework, leadwork, glazing/windows and timber preservation, including dry rot and timber decay.

Craig Gilmour, Deputy Managing Partner at Hardies, said: “We are delighted to secure this commission for a comprehensive range of projects to be delivered this financial year. We are also very happy to continue working with the College based on previous works having finished on budget and on time.

“These projects will be carried out in an extremely tight time period, though Hardies is best placed to provide these because of our multi-disciplinary approach to client service provision. Hardies recognised this many years ago and is well-placed to deliver client-focused objective Projects meeting client needs as a single service provider.”

Hardies is also investigating structural subsidence at Glasgow Kelvin College’s Easterhouse site, where it will engage with a multi-disciplined design team to act as lead consultant, Quantity Surveyors, CDM-Principal Designers, Project Management and Architectural services.

The term commission will also see Hardies engage with Glasgow Kelvin College Designers and co-ordinate the various providers, namely, Structural Engineers, Civil Engineers, specialist timber consultants, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers and Lighting Engineers.

The various projects are scheduled for completion in early 2017.

Hardies, which recently merged with Shepherd Chartered Surveyors, serves clients in both the Private and Public sectors with a complete operation in property and construction development, including property valuation, Building and Quantity Surveying and Project Management. The firm also handles the leasing and sale of commercial and industrial buildings; CDM Co-ordination and the provision of Energy Performance Certificates.
